Going Fishing

Hi Ladies and Gents,

It has been a while since I have posted anything....That's because.....Wait for it...............................I HAVE A BOYFRIEND!!! He is so kind, sweet, a perfect gentleman, and patient! Oh, And he is a Fisherman! Wow! I believe that the last time I made a video, I eluded to a conversation I had with a male friend that said I would be single for the rest of my life because I was natural. WELL, LOOK AT GOD!!!! Lift your hands Saints, because........(*singing) Jasmine's got a man at home......And he's so good to me! YAY!!! I love him ya'll. Anyway....The title says: Going Fishing.....Because I am! He is taking me somewhere I have never been before. Never thought I would say this.......I've always wanted to go fishing, just never had anyone "brave" enough to take me.

I am so excited about this trip because it is a chance for me to go into his world. I'll update you guys about this thing AFTER the trip! I may not be so elated after this.

God has a way of bringing things full circle and shows you that He's got you in the palm of His hand. I have messed up so many times and He still blesses me with so much. I'm intrigued by what's to come.......

In other news, this new found relationship has changed me. I am on a new diet regimen, I have been exercising, taking vitamins......AND Natural Beauties.....I believe it all started when I began discovering who I was in God, which made me discover my natural beauty, my purpose and my destiny!

I finally did it! My BC!!!! Hooray! It's over! Not sure how I really feel. I keep going to the scripture that I'm fearfully and wonderfully made..............Marvelous are thy works and THAT I know right well! It is amazing that I was so apprehensive about this change; however, I welcome it with open arms! Thanks for the support everyone!

Encouragement for the Natural sisters out there

It's been a while since I've posted anything! So, How's it going my Beauties?!?!

Today's topic: Encouragement
I had one negative thing said about my hair since transitioning to natural. That one comment sent me on a tailspin, to leave me mentally exhausted thinking about what others really want to say! Ultimately, I had to be ministered to by God! He took me to Psalm 139: 14: I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well!

This passage tells me that every part of me has been wonderfully made by the LORD! We are made in the likeness and image of God: OUR hair included! Thank you Lord for this revelation.

Then this passage solidifies this statement and says, "Marvellous are thy WORKS"......What are God's works? We are HIS works! We are the work of His hands!!!!

So, Here I am................Now encouraged! I hope you are as well! I'm so happy to have the experience of transitioning! It's like getting rid of the old and allowing the new to grow................Yes I am encouraged! Be encouraged Ladies!

Here are a few hair tips on Essential oils

Here's a tip everyone:

I like to buy EO's (essential oils): Essential oils are extracted from the aromatic essences of certain plants, trees, fruit, flowers, herbs, and spices. They are natural volatile oils with identifiable chemical and medicinal properties. These oils can be blended and should also be used as they are directed to use. I would advise everyone to read and research essential oils. WHAT DO YOU NEED?

Do you need dandruff control? Do you need Anti-viral, anti-bacterial properties?

Do your research on your symptoms and see if EO's are good for you!

Here are just a few:

Tea Tree Oil: Aromatherapy Uses of tea tree oil, health benefits
SKIN CARE: Abscess, acne, athlete's foot, blisters, burns, cold sores, dandruff,
herpes, insect bites, oily skin, rashes (nappy rash), spots, verrucae, warts,
wounds.

RESPIRATORY SYSTEM: Asthma, bronchitis, catarrh, coughs, sinusitis,
tuberculosis, whooping cough.

GENITO-URINARY SYSTEM: Thrush, vaginitis, cystitis, pruitis.

IMMUNE SYSTEM: Colds, fever, 'flu, infectious illnesses such as chicken pox.

Antiseptic / Bacretrial Properties of tea tree oil :Treatment of cuts, burns, insect bites, infected splinters and all kinds of wounds, especially dirty or ones which contain puss.

PEPPERMINT OIL:

Peppermint oil is excellent for mental fatigue and depression, refreshing the spirit and stimulating mental agility and improving concentration. It helps for apathy, shock, headache, migraine, nervous stress, vertigo and faintness and in general respiratory disorders, as well as dry coughs, sinus congestion, asthma, bronchitis, pneumonia, tuberculosis and cholera.

For the digestive system, peppermint oil is effective for a range of ailments, as it stimulates the gall bladder and the secretion of bile. It is used for colic, cramps, dyspepsia, spastic colon, flatulence and nausea and can relieve pain in cases of toothache, aching feet, rheumatism, neuralgia, muscular pains and painful periods.

On the skin, peppermint oil is used to relieve skin irritation and itchiness and also helps to reduce skin redness, where inflammation is present. It is used for dermatitis, acne, ringworm, scabies and pruritus and also relieves itching, sunburn and inflammation of the skin, while at the same time having a cooling action.

So this is what I do:

Tea tree oil (uses: effective against dandruff) in my shampoo

Peppermint oil (uses: relieves itching) in my conditioner

Lime and Orange (for a great fragrance) in my homemade whipped shea butter mix

I love it ladies. I also (just) used peppermint oil in my bath and it aids in reducing fatigue in muscles!

What if SOMEONE says...............

Greetings to all of you:

I was speaking with a Sister in Christ this afternoon about the things God has called us to do for His Kingdom. We began to discuss our hindrances and those things that come up against us, making us afraid to pursue purpose and destiny with all that we have. We discussed fear, mental challenges, and procrastination as it relates to MOVING with what God has placed in us to do.

As we continued, I talked about one of my hindrances: What if someone says..............And it dawned on me.......The main hindrance for people is PEOPLE!!!!! Those "someones" or those "somebody's" that haunt every idea that we attempt to put in the forefront for people to see.

Let's do a quick analysis of this concept: What has God put in you, that you do naturally? Those things you think EVERYBODY can do, but if you stepped back and looked at it as if it was sitting in your hands, you would know that it is a talent. For instance, everyone is told to "make a joyful noise unto the Lord", but there are some people who, when they open their mouths, can sing to the heavens and weights begin to fall off those that have been heavy laden. Then there are those people who can stand in front of large crowds and use their gifts to speak life into people. That is a gifting and at times a talent! That's the first question. Next, we ask, what hinders you from using that special gift (because it is special) for the Kingdom of God and for the advancement of the Kingdom?

The BIGGEST question we can ask is...............Who exactly is that "SOMEONE"?

In John 10:10: The scripture tells us that: "The thief cometh not but for to steal, kill, and to destroy; I (Jesus) have come that thou might have life and life more abundantly"

If you are born again and believe in Jesus the Christ, Son of the Living God, and the comforter the Holy Spirit, you have been renewed unto God and that same God has placed in you gifts and talents.

So, how has that thief stolen from you? The enemy sends thoughts our way to allow others to hinder what God wants us to do and he attempts to fool us into thinking that God couldn't have called me to do something like that! Am I right?!?!?

What have been some things that have hindered you? What words have you heard in your past that have hindered you from doing the work of God? What are words you have even said to yourself that could have hindered what you were to be doing for God? Your assignment (I'll be doing this too):

Take this phrase: What if SOMEONE says____________________(fill in the blank)

and this phrase: Someone did say_______________________(fill in the blank)

and this phrase: I don't believe_________________will ever happen (fill in the blank)

Take these phrases and give them to the Lord! Ask God to heal you in those areas............Then renounce each ill word that was ever spoken over your life and any ill word that you ever said against yourself. Ask God to fill you with only His word..............Get the word deep in you (the Holy Bible) until even if SOMEONE says...............God has the Words of eternal Life! Place your ear to His lips and allow HIM to speak life to you! In Proverbs, The scripture says: "death and life is in the power of the tongue; and they that LOVE it shall eat the Fruit thereof." What is the Word saying? When you sow words of death........the fruit of it is death.............when you sow words of life...........the fruit is life!!!!!!!! How can a farmer sow apple seeds and expect to get oranges.................If nature (which is God's perfectly created system) doesn't work like that, how do you think that we(HIS creation,Man, which is made IN His image and likeness) are exempt from the same law of reciprocity?!??

There are things that God has called YOU to do for Him in His timing and if (just as Mordecai told Queen Esther) in the proper timing you do not do what He has called you to do, He can raise up someone else. So, who cares if someone says...........

Arm yourself with what God has told you to do.............Use what is in your hands!

God loves you so much! What you do for God and in God (that you do naturally) will call people into the Kingdom! It's time!

First of all, I am NOT an EXPERT in HAIRCARE! I am a HAIR enthusiast. I love the thought of doing hair and I enjoy the different things that can be done to the CROWNING Glory of a woman!

If you have ever thought about transitioning to natural hair, this blog is here to inform you of the things that I did while currently transitioning with haircare and scalp health.

Here are pieces of information that are important to think about before your "transition":
1. Pray for guidance: If you are a person of Faith in God, it is important that we do as Proverbs 3:6 tells us: "In all thy ways acknowledge Him (God) and He shall direct thy path."

We are swayed in many directions when dealing with choices for ourselves, but if we continue to allow God into our personal affairs (EVEN our HAIR), he will give us direction. These directives tell us who to consult with, who to tell, and who to avoid sharing your healthy hair journey with.........believe it or not, there will ALWAYS be critics. God knows this and will help guide you through this journey.

2.Do your research: Type in on this Blog the words "Transitioning from Relaxed to Natural Hair"
Do this search and see all of the people around the world who have the same question as you: "What in the world do I do first, then next?"

3. Begin to embrace your natural hair! It took me a long time to grasp that thought that my hair was not in it's natural state. I wore a relaxer from the time that I 5 till 30! That's 25 years of having a relaxer. It made me realize that it was time to embrace who I truly was underneath the chemical. TOUCH your hair.............EMBRACE your curls.................And remember your "kitchen", your "naps" are YOURS. I don't like to think of natural hair as nappy.............it's REAL and it's what GOD intended for you to have. I'm not knocking relaxers at all............I loved my free-flowing hair, but I would like to see natural-healthy hair and chemically treated-healthy hair!

Why beauty.destiny.purpose.naturally?

I chose the name of this blog to reflect the journey that is taken by those who pursue purpose. In order for us to understand the depth of the title of this blog...............I have to go to my "handy dandy" dictionary!

I love words and it is easy to say what it means to me, but the dictionary says it (2nd) best at times.

Definitions:

Beauty: the quality or aggregate of qualities in a person or thing that gives pleasure to the senses or pleasurably exalts the mind or spirit

Destiny: a predetermined course of events often held to be an irresistible power or agency

Purpose: something set up as an object or end to be attained

Naturally: according to the usual course of things : as might be expected

See yourself in this role of Beautiful, Destiny bound, and Purpose Driven. It is what God wants for you Naturally!

I have a few questions for you:
1. What part of yourself do you feel is NOT beautiful? (inside or out) What part of yourself do you feel IS beautiful?

2. What do you believe you have been DESTINED to do with your life? What do you do that you feel comes so naturally and you realize most people struggle to do that same thing?

3. What is your goal for your life or just the goal for your hair?

These questions can have multiple answers.

Remember when answering: Jeremiah 29:11!

To my wonderfully made people: First, I would like to thank you for visiting this Blog! I'm new to the blog world and need to get accustomed to this stream of communication and expressing myself. This blog is a journey for me! Since April 2009, I've been transitioning from relaxed hair to natural hair. I have discovered some things about myself through this transition and through the Word of God (Oh, yeah, I'm saved, woo hoo)! As you follow me through this journey, I hope that there are things you uncover about yourself.

The Word of God (the Bible) discusses what God thinks about us: Jeremiah 29:11: "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you , saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to GIVE you an expected end."
